Easter is the perfect time to talk to your older youth about the full seriousness of being saved. I thought I'd write something for you to read, or use as a guide, to talk to your students about how important Easter is to everyone. This is just kind of a way to sum up this very important day and give your teens something to think about. God's love is for everyone, He died for all of us, and He wants everyone to be saved. All are welcome to heaven, but they have to leave their sinful habits behind. No sin is too great that God will not forgive, as long as we are truly sorry and ready to give our hearts and lives to God.

"For God So loved the world that He gave His ONLY Son that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16 We all know this verse by heart probably. But with so much power in it, we can never hear it too much. God sent His one and only son to die on the cross for our sins. He loved us so much that He aloud Him to suffer much torment on the cross. Yes there are many good friends and family members out there that would seriously give their lives for some one they love. This is an amazing love! But, how many would be willing to send their own child to die for the life of another? That would not be an easy task. Many people see someone they love, sick in the hospital and will say how they would gladly take their place. But would they put their own child in their place? This is just another major reason why God sending His only Son to die was and is the biggest proof of God's amazing love for us all. Question to think about: Who do you love so much that you would die for them if it meant they would live? Would you be willing to let a friend/family member suffer and die to save someone else that you love, or even someone you don't know?
Now you may be thinking, "Well He wouldn't have let His son go through all that suffering if He would have known about the terrible life some people live" or "I've done some really bad things. There's no way He'll be willing to forgive me."
Jesus knew us even before we were born, He knew who He was doing all this for and He could have ended the torture at any time. Matt 26:53 let us know that He could have had an army of angels by His side at any second but He knew what had to be done. After Jesus went through an unbearable amount of torture and was hanging on the cross Jesus asked God to forgive His tormentors. You think Jesus won't forgive you? Did you torture Him and nail His hands and feet to a cross? Jesus asked God to forgive the people who did all that to Him! Could you forgive someone who would do that to you? Jesus did, and He will forgive you of your past mistakes if you just ask. He didn't have to die on the cross because everyone was living perfect. He was sinless and therefore He was the perfect sacrifice for our sins. People make horrible choices and do much evil. The wages of sin is death, so Jesus came to die for us all because it is impossible for us to go through life without sinning and He does not want us to suffer in hell, that is why God had to send His son. Jesus paid the debt for us all. When we face judgment and we are found guilty of sinning, Jesus will step forth and say "I already paid the debt for this one" and we will be aloud eternal life in Heaven. The promise for eternal life is offered to all, but will only be given to those who truly believe in Him and have asked Him into their hearts. Many believe in God's existence but still choose to follow the world and think they will go to heaven just as long as they are a nice person for the most part. Do not listen to this lie of Satan! It takes a personal relationship which God. Live for God and help further His kingdom and He will bless you in this life and reward you with eternal life full of peace and love. Points to ponder: Just being a nice person doesn't make you a Christian, you have to have a real relationship with God. Relationships take constant communication not just occasional visits. A sin that is not hurting anyone else is still a sin and there is no room for any sin in heaven. God is ready to forgive anyone as long as they truly want to change their ways and live for Him.

Such a great message! We have to teach our teens the importance of Jesus' death and that he died to save them as well! Also, I love how you mentioned being "nice" will save you. Without a relationship with Jesus, there is no salvation. Continue to inspire teens because this generation needs it!
